X Factor admits changing vocals

Gamu NhenguX Factor bosses have admitted to using "autotuning" on the ITV talent show.

The revelation comes after many fans claimed producers had enhanced the contestants' voices on the first show on Saturday night.

Autotuning is usually used in recording studios to improve performances by correcting pitch and disguising off-key mistakes.

An X Factor spokesman said it was necessary to use on the show due to the number of microphones used during filming.

We caught up with him at his record label offices ahead of this year's X Factor to find out how his life's changed since the show and who he wants to see win this year.

BBC weatherman causes storm with hand gesture

BBC weatherman Tomasz Schafernaker has landed himself in stormy waters after giving a rude hand gesture to a colleague - unaware he was live on camera while doing so.

He quickly realised what he'd done and looked horrified as he put his hands to his face, but still faced a dressing down from BBC News Channel bosses last night.

His embarrassing moment came as newsreader Simon McCoy joked yesterday morning: "Now we will have the weather forecast in a minute and it will be 100% accurate... I have just seen Tomasz preparing for it, so I am not entirely sure, oh."

Outnumbered star lands Just William role

Outnumbered star Daniel Roche has lost his curls and donned a 1920s school uniform for his new role in Just William.

VIDEO: Lorraine Kelly's Next Big Fat Challenge returns

The Chawner family, labelled Britain's laziest and fattest, are going to be back in the spotlight next month as Lorraine Kelly attempts to kick them back in to shape.

Returning for a second series of Lorraine Kelly's Big Fat Challenge, the GMTV presenter who has battled with her own weight problems will be prising the big family off the sofa, away from the pies and back into the real world.

The Chawners first became known to the nation when daughter Emma appeared on the X Factor in 2007, she was ridiculed by the judges for her rendition of My Heart Will Go On whilst wearing a wedding dress made by her dad.

James Herriot to ride again

All Creatures Great And Small is being brought back to life by the BBC.

The classic series, based on the adventures of Yorkshire vet James Herriot, was one of the most popular series on TV during its original 12-year run.

Now the BBC are resurrecting the character in Young James, a three-part series which will focus on the vet during his earlier years in Glasgow.

Blind football ad ruled OK

An advert that suggests a cat has been kicked across a football pitch by blind players has not been banned by a watchdog, despite 1,000 complaints.

Viewers said bookmaker Paddy Power's advert was offensive to blind people and could encourage animal cruelty.

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) said it was not offensive in itself to create an advert referring to people with a disability, with the betmaker Paddy Power saying it featured events so unlikely it was "absurd".
