TV DVDs: Robot Chicken Series 3

robot chicken series 3More puppet-on-puppet stop motion violence this week as Seth Green and Matthew Senreich's Robot Chicken Series Three comes to a shiny disc near you.

The [Adult Swim] series takes doesn't so much take a satirical sideswipe at US popular culture, as smash it repeatedly with mallet for 15 minutes. And then kick it in the nuts.

Review: Rich Hall with Otis Lee Crenshaw, Hell No I Ain't Happy

Rich HallRich Hall is like a grumpy old uncle - you might not want to see him all the time, but when you do he never fails to make you laugh.

Star of shows such as Live at the Apollo, Rich Hall's Cattle Drive, Rich Hall's Fishing Show, How the West was Lost and a popular QI regular, Rich has been performing for audiences in his renowned grouchy, deadpan style for years.

In his new DVD, Hell No I Ain't Happy, we see Hall live at the Hammersmith Apollo performing his classic unthemed comedy rants.

He wins over the British crowd by mocking just about everything to do with the US. His jokes are timely, with many centring on America's economic problems. He describes George W Bush's departure as president as "one of comedy's greatest losses."

Rhod Gilbert's Award Winning Mince Pie Review

Rhod Gilbert As his dulcet Welsh tones drift towards your ears, you'll be fighting back the tears of laughter as Rhod Gilbert brings us his newest, and funniest, stage show, 'Rhod Gilbert's Award Winning Mince Pie'.

After only breaking through into comedy in 2002, Gilbert has dazzled and fast tracked his way up the comedy ladder. Awards and nominations from the BBC, Perrier and Paramount are firmly stashed under his belt making Gilbert one of the hottest comics around. Now a familiar voice on BBC Wales' Saturday morning show, a regular on comedy panel shows, not to mention becoming the face of Welsh tourism, is there anything this man can't do?

Krod Mandoon and the Flaming Sword of Fire Review

Krod MandoonBrought to your screens in 2009 by BBC2, Krod Mandoon will either leave you in stitches, or leave you cold. An American production and with an almost starry cast consisting of Sean Maguire (Krod Mandoon) and Matt Lucas (Chancellor Dongalor) you'd expect this unusual comedy series to offer so much more. However, it simply doesn't.

The best approach to watching it is to prepare yourself - prepare for hokey American accents (courtesy of Maguire), loin cloths, tons of 'gay' jokes and Matt Lucas' sketchy performance holding the whole thing together.

The DVD consists of six hour-long episodes, interviews, a terrible 'behind the scenes' feature with magician character, Zezelryck played by Kevin Hart and a fairly good outtakes section.

Stephen K Amos: Find the Funny Review

Stephen K AmosWelcome to the brand new DVD from Stephen K Amos 'Find the Funny'. Will you 'find the funny'? Oh yes, you certainly will...

After performing for many years on the London circuit, Amos has stacked up a ton of stage time, a plethora of Edinburgh shows and now he's grabbed not one but two brand new comedy commissions for the BBC. He's gonna be the next big thing to hit our screens in the New Year and he didn't even have to kill Lenny Henry!

Beginning his DVD in a Nigerian accent and twisting simple observations into clever gags, Amos begins as he means to go on – in style! Returning to his usual London accent, he integrates chats to the (uncommonly young) Aussie audience with his experiences growing up in London, attending school, his parent's expectations for him and his long-faced twin sister, breaking into gag after quality gag.

TV DVDs: The Sunday Late Night Project

The Sunday Late Night ProjectThe boys are back in town for the final time as Alan Carr and the bearded one from the West Country bid us a final farewell with a DVD of the 'best' bits from The Sunday Night Project.

Originally called The Friday Night Project and only changed its name when it switched days, The Sunday Night Project was a staple of student Channel 4 weekend viewing. Filled with famous guests, bloopers, and other treats from across the whole seven series, if you were a fan of the show you'll love it.

TV DVDS: Jason Manford - Live at the Manchester Apollo

Jason ManfordWell, it's about time Jason, we've been sat here since 2006 waiting for this! Live at the Manchester Apollo, Manford's debut DVD looks set to rock the Christmas DVD charts with a hell of a Ding Dong!

Over the past couple of years, Jason Manford has gradually become a household name, creeping into our lives from a book review on Richard and Judy to hosting the stand-up series 'Live at the Apollo'. In between, he's been a team captain on 8 Out of 10 Cats and more recently he's voiced animals in the BBC sketch show, 'Walk on the Wild Side'.

TV DVDs: Andy Parsons - Britain's Got Idiots

andy parsons - britain's got idiots DVDIt's quite surprising that Parsons hasn't got a few DVD's already tucked snugly under his belt due to the sheer amount of successful writing, TV and Radio work he's done over the years. But with his TV fame as one of the stars of Mock the Week and his outstanding comedy performance at Edinburgh, Melbourne and Montreal Comedy Festivals, I guess it was just a matter of time.

TV DVDs: Eddie Izzard - Stripped

eddie izzard - strippedHands up, who doesn't like Eddie Izzard? Nope, didn't think so! Because to be honest, what's not to like? 'Stripped' is Izzard's seventh DVD, and true to form it's filled to the brim with whimsy, nonsense and driving animals.

TV DVDs: Lee Evans - Access All Arenas

Lee Evans - Access All AreasTechnology is an amazing thing, however I take particular joy when it falls over because it surely means the machines haven't replaced us yet! What has this got to do with Lee Evans? Well the latest computer FAIL to put a smug grin on my face saw a review disc for Lee Evans new live DVD, Access All Arenas, arrive on my desk, only to actually contain Jason Manford's new show - hurrah!

So we can't actually tell you what Access All Arenas is like. Thanks to the Press Release we *do* know it contains the best routines taken from Lee's biggest arena tours, and there's an exclusive interview with the man himself and Phill Jupitus, but you'll have to take a punt on the material held on the shiny disc, or use these clips as a guide...
