Gino D'Acampo, the winner of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, and fellow contestant Stuart Manning are facing criminal charges for animal cruelty after cooking and eating a rat on the TV programme.

The pair were members of a group in "exile" for part of the series, which meant meagre rations of rice and beans.

A lack of meat prompted the contestants to apparently catch, kill and eat a rat.

The final day dawns – Jimmy is up to his neck in Flash Flood, Kim endures green ants and spiders in the John T-ravolting tank and Gino's in his own personal hell – the Bushtucker Bonanza.

The joy of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here is that, though they are all 'celebrities', they're a strange and mismatched bunch.

This year the final was fought out by an Italian chef, a snooker champion and a cleaner... need we say more.

In the end though, it was TV chef Gino D'Acampo that was crowned the King of the Jungle.

But nearly £500,000 later, the producers are regretting their decision to send Jordan back to the jungle.

Despite her whopping £350,000 fee, Katie quit the show after eight days but remained in Australia, staying in a rather lavish suite at the five-star Palazzo Versace.

He screamed, yelped and cried his way through three weeks of bugs, barneys and Bush Tucker trials, but Justin's time in the jungle has drawn to a close.

As he put it so eloquently during his early days in camp, "I'm up and down like a whore's drawers", but in the end, the Scotsman only narrowly missed out on the I'm A Celebrity final.

Day 19 – Kim and Jimmy are up to their waists in feathers, the celebrities revolt over scones and Justin and Gino end up smelling "like the bowels of hell".

From the moment he rode into camp on horseback, Stuart Manning appeared impervious to all manner of horrors.

But the ex-Hollyoaks actor became the latest celebrity to be evicted from the Australian jungle, just missing out on the final three.

Admitting he was "disappointed" not to have made the last day, Stuart insisted that despite being thrown into water, locked in jail, electrocuted and covered in bugs and slime, his jungle experience was "everything he expected and more".

He may be sorely missed within camp, but I'm A Celebrity contestant George Hamilton has revealed that his girlfriend begged him not to go into the Australian jungle.

Doctor Barbara Sturm, 36, was concerned for pensioner George's health and feared that her frail fella might suffer in jungle conditions.

Day 18 – It's a case of 'be careful what you wish for' where Sabrina's concerned, there are tears all round as letters from home arrive and Kim's 'raging fire' results in flirtatious behaviour from Gino and Stuart.
