TV Choice Awards red carpet VIDEO EXCLUSIVE

The stars of the small screen were out in force on the red carpet for the TV Choice Awards last night and AOL TV got an invite too.

So, armed with a handful of gold envelopes each containing a tricky question of the televisual variety we quizzed the great and the good of British television on the really important matters of the day... like who would be on your fantasy Celebrity Come Dine With Me guestlist? Which TV show from yesteryear would you bring back? And, given the choice of Peter Andre, Kerry Katona and Katie Price – who would you snog, marry and avoid?

Find how the likes of Louie Spence, Eamonn Holmes, Suzanne Shaw, John Barrymore, Ryan Thomas and John Partridge got on in our exclusive red carpet video below.

TV Choice Awards - Winners revealed

The TV Choice Awards took place earlier this evening (Monday), a night when the great and the good of the showbiz world get together to give each other a big pat on the back.

The folk of Emmerdale and Albert Square will be pleased, with EastEnders picking up Best Soap and a couple of other gongs, while among Emmerdale's awards was one for their brave, well-handled plot surrounding Aaron coming to terms with his sexuality, which rightly walked away with the prize for Best Storyline and Best Soap Actor for Danny Miller.

There was also a special prize for Coronation Street, which, as well all know, celebrates its 50th year on screen this coming December.

Carry on reading for a full list of the winners.

This Is England '86: Photo special

We love This Is England '86. It's brilliantly written, perfectly acted and directed, and looks absolutely fantastic.

So much so that we wanted to show you a nice preview of the series before it begins on Tuesday September 7 (Channel 4, 10pm).

Carry on reading for a handful of our favourite images from the series, and, because we're good to you, a trailer too.

The Soapbox: Love, death and revelations

A huge week in the soaps coming up, with birth, death, love and long-lost relatives around every corner.

Oh yeah, the Queen Vic burns down too. Anne Richardson knows all about it, so carry on reading to find out more.

Makosi and Nadia out as Vanessa Feltz enters BB

Makosi and Nadia in the Big Brother houseThere were a few surprises in this week's Ultimate Big Brother as both Makosi and former winner Nadia were evicted from the house.

Makosi was first out and, in her usual style, was unrepentant about her outdoor showering (the bathroom was dirty) and her bizarre idea that Paul McKenna was the second coming (it's all about your own reality, apparently).

We talk to the cast of This Is England '86

This Is England, the fifth film from Uttoxeter-born film-maker Shane Meadows, was released to wild critical acclaim in 2006.

The film addressed the skinhead subculture of the early-80s, showing how it was hijacked by white nationalists, causing the scene to disappear. At the same time, it introduced a wonderful young cast headed up by then-newcomer Thomas Turgoose alongside the likes of Joe Gilgun, Vicky McClure, Andrew Shim and Stephen Graham, who played the menacing, tormented ex-con Combo.

The cast and director have reunited for a four-part series, This Is England '86, set three years after the events of the Bafta-winning film. Gone are the skinhead fashions, and in are sharp Mod suits and hip-hop references with World Cup fever hanging in the air.

We were lucky enough to attend a sneak preview recently where we saw the first part of the series. Laugh-out-loud funny, extremely powerful and moving in equal measure, the series loses none of the film's punch on the small screen and, in our opinion, is the finest thing you'll see on TV this year.

We caught up with Thomas (Shaun), Joe (Woody) and Vicky (Lol) to find out more.

Check out a collection of our favourite images from the series and a trailer here.

Michelle Bass in new BB race row

Michelle BassThe Big Brother house was plunged into another race row today as Michelle Bass was accused of using racist and homophobic language.

A veteran of BB5, Michelle walked into the nest where Nick, Victor and Brian were sitting, and remarked: "It's blacks and all sorts night tonight."

Brian attempted to break the slightly uncomfortable silence, by replying: "It's gays, blacks, villains and divas night."
